Our Mission

We have a common mission: To be stewards of the environment, working within the direct mail industry to offer continuous thought leadership and sustainable solutions that meet consumer demand for responsible mail.

What we do...

We gather and share information that our members can use to improve the environmental footprint of their part of the mail industry. We develop and share:

  • Sustainability road maps
  • Information about measurement tools
  • Best practices
  • Case studies
  • Networking opportunities for like-minded professionals

How we are organized...

The Sustainable Mail Group (SMG) is organized as a division of the National Association of Major Mail Users (NAMMU). NAMMU is a charter member of the SMG. To support SMG’s mission and drive industry participation, NAMMU has provided the not-for-profit and administrative framework required to ensure a smooth, fast, and efficient start and continued growth.

Although under the NAMMU umbrella, SMG operates independently, with its own executive team. SMG represents the interests of the complete supply chain in creating a sustainable mail industry.

Our membership is open to anyone with an interest in the sustainability and importance of the mail industry to Canada.
